I'm Looooosing it!

I asked you to guess what's wrong in the previous post.

Some readers spotted the mistake right away.

Anyway, take a look at these if you're still trying to spot the mistake:

Win x Lose

Tight x Loose

It's really annoying to see popular websites and newspapers making this silly mistake.

I'm no English pundit. So I'll direct you to a page that explains the difference. Click here

Currently listening to....

These tunes are fantafreakingfabulous!

If I were given the opportunity to promote one band abroad right now, I wouldn't think twice about which one it would be.

Tremendous energy, technical brilliance, absolutely catchy hooks....These songs linger on in my head even hours later!

Thanks to Anand for leading me to these vids. Waiting to lay my hands on the album, now :)

Small Talk plunges to its death around me!

Young Thing:
"Heyy! Wassup?"

Me: "Nothing much. And you?"

Young Thing: "Same. Hey, where do you live?"

(I roll my eyes cos' she is asking me this for the second time now!)

Young Thing: "Oh Oh! Have I asked you this before?"

(I nod in the affirmative)

Young Thing: "See this is the problem with small talk. I don't remember!!!!"

Me: "That's precisely why I don't indulge in any!"

Superman's been cheating on Lois! Here's the proof:

Click on above video to watch Superman and Spiderwoman gyrate to cheesy Bollywood music in this timeless classic!

LMAO! Stillllll! :)

Thanks for guessing!

If I had to hand out an award for the most creative guess, I would be in a real spot now! :)

For every one who commented, there was someone else popping up on gtalk to ask me what's going on :)

"What is going on?"

"Tell me what it is. Curiosity killed the cat, you know?"

Listen i dont get it.... i know trust is a sugar brand and it comes in a sachet that looks like a condom pack but whats the deal there?"

What the preceding post post did manage to do is excite the rubbernecks within us!

There's a couple of things I've gotta pen here on that thought:

1. Stay curious. That's the only way you'll get through (occasional) monotony in day-to-day life.

2. Continue conversing on your friends' blogs. You are encouraging the blogger by actively engaging with his/ her thoughts and letting him/ her know what you feel.

Thank you :)

Anyway coming to the point, I came across that sachet in a cafe here.

Of course it's sugar :)

But the brand name and the rather deceptive packaging had more than a handful of people chuckling at the cafe.

You think they had seen this ad, too? :

I wonder if Trust sugar is launching in Kenya anytime soon :P

Any guesses?

This is real simple.

Take a guess at what this is:

Please leave a comment with your take on what it might be.

Thanks :)

Perks of working at an Ad Agency

are usually intangible in nature. It's all about little joys.

For e.g. You'll always get away with a wallpaper like this on your desktop:

Smart colleagues will get the subtle hint and leave you to your devices.

The not-so-smart ones will miss this beauty and continue to indulge in their devices.

P.S: Yes. I strongly believe in the power of non-verbal communication.

2 sides of the same coin

On one front you have initiatives in the hinterland that educate people about the dreaded HIV and how to play safe:

And on the other front, you have gimmicky graffiti like the one below:

I checked out
the website.

It says: "Guru Siyag has proved in a number of cases that the practical application of yoga can indeed heal and even cure chronic ailments such as arthritis and diabetes, and terminal diseases such as cancer and HIV/AIDS"

When you belong to a country where people are easily influenced by the media they are exposed to, one can't help but wonder how dangerously the interpretations can vary.

I found the above graffiti on flickr. But, I've personally come across graffiti on 3-wheelers here that proclaim "Jesus can cure AIDS".

A polite conversation layered over pangs of guilt.

A shaky start but the ice breaks nevertheless.

Jokes that sound lamer than they actually are.

And, Pretence that neither of us is judgmental.

The minutes are ticking away but seem only like a few seconds have passed.

Friends who part ways never turn into enemies. Or Do they?

Is this for real? Or is it yet another fiction of my imagination?

Shekism a.k.a Unintentional Wisdom - 1

This is the first in the series of Shekisms (or purely accidental philosophy) that emerged in the course of inane GTalk chats.

This one came about when Katty and I were discussing these pics she clicked by her window.

Katty: "Why do cats always climb places they can't get off from?"

Shek: "Cos' they know they can land on all fours unscathed if they overcome their fears!"

Google and e-Bay have merged!

There was an email from John Lambie (Regional Digital Creative Director, Bates Asia) recently, where he asked readers to comment on what we think is that one website which survived the dot com crash successfully in the past.

Without batting an eyelid, I replied 'Yahoo!'.

And to hear a couple of days later that Yahoo is laying off 1000 employees was ironical indeed.

Well, on the brighter side, if Microsoft is joining hands with Yahoo, Google surely has some competition coming its way!

Be it digital advertising solutions on Digg or the $240m advertising deal with Facebook,
Microsoft's strategies are intriguing indeed!

(P.S: Google and e-bay haven't merged of course. That's one of those email forwards I dug up from my inbox. Goobay in Kannada means 'Owl' :P)

Get your PC infected for free!

I'm so waiting to try this on George Bush's official laptop!

Dilbert rubs it in!
